My Dear Robert
When I closed
my last letter to you,
I expected ear this to have
some word from Cap. McDonald,
but have not yet seen or heard
from him, so that I am in
a dilemma about going to see
you, if I cannot have Capt. McD.
company, I will start alone
with the children if you will dictate my course
I am getting ready as fast as I
can, and will be ready to start
next week. I have not got a
girl yet, so that it is some what
hard for me to get along as my
strength is not sufficient for
the any duties devolving on me
if it was not for the children’s
help I could not get along,
