My Dear Robert,
I have just
received your telegram and
it has given me a world of
relief. Ella gave it to me
when I was looking over the
evening paper to see if I
could learn anything of
my dear Robert. I dreaded to
open it but when I did, and
read the sentence, “am here
physically well,” I felt
greatly relieved in one sense
but then again I feel deeply
pained knowing how
badly you feel at the
result of things, but Robert
don’t despair, I know you have
many things to discourage you
over which you have no control.
