Dear General
In fulfillment of my promise to write
to you, and promising that a line from me, eminating
as it does from your recent “Headquarters,” will not
prove altogether unacceptable to you. I proceed to make
that promise good, altho in truth, there has been little
of occurrence worthy of note since you have left us.
The Colonels Court, with that characteristic
regard for their personal care and health, which has
herd of no evinced itself on sundry occasions, as
well as a magnanimous feeling towards those
unfortunates who have been summoned to meet
“Bombusters face to face,” have again adjourned
over for a week; and I am to all intents and
purposes a widower; the Colonel having left for
