My Dear Mary
I arrived back
here on the evening of the 10th from
Atlanta and other places South.
I have reccd yours of the 9th inst
enclosing draft on the McCoy & Thom-
pson for $550.00 which I got
cashed at the 1st National Bank
here without discount, which is
better than I had a right to expect.
But it is a favor extended to me on
account of our doing all our
business at that Bk. I will make
this amt. do me till we strike oil.
We have got our steam enjine
& machine to boaring finely when
the prospect is good. We have
another steam enjine at McMi-
nnville and will have the tools
& machinery to commence boring
