learn of your continued ill health & of
Little Brucey’s getting his collar bone
broken. You will have to be very careful in
keeping it braced up while knitting or he will
be deformed by that shoulder being lower than
the other. The boys should not be alowed to go
on top of the shed or house. I never alowed
them to do so while I was at home without
watching them & helping them down. I hope
this will be a lesson to them that they will
profit by. I feel concerned & uneasy about
your continued ill health. I think a journey
down here and a stay of a month or so
in this healthy region might help you &
probably restore your health fully. Six
new full regts. have recently joined me
at this place & several others have been
scattered along the line so that it is
now pretty safe. I think Lee is now
effectively cut off from getting to this state
if he should escape from Richmond which
is doubtful. We have now a large force
