I, Robert H. Milroy hereby pledge myself to an Unconditional Loyalty 
to the Government of the United States, to an unwavering support of its efforts to suppress 
the Rebellion and to spare no endeavor to maintain unimpaired the National Unity and 
to defend and perpetuate Freedom and the Union.  I pledge my life, my fortune, and my 
sacred honor.  So help me God.
