General Millory
Dear Sir. I have
an good opportunity of writing
you a short epistle which let
you that I am well at present.
I forgot to tell you about my
fine mare. I am going to let
you know about her brand.
An indistinct brand WD on her
left shoulder, which belongs to mine.
My pa told me that Bill George
was with Edwan M. Bay robbed
my fine mare at Mr. Jennings
Mill. My fine mare was worth
200 dollars. Edwan M. Bay ran
my fine mare down every time
and she became poor and her
leg swelled. He sold her to Jessie
Leatherwood, and he bought her
$50 dollars. My pa says I can
buy Jessie Leatherwood fifty
dollars for the recovery of my
mare, but I have not plenty
of money enough to pay Jessie
Handwritten; 1 sheet, 2 sides of writing; white stationery with light blue lines
