Kelley, consisting of two good
and full brigades to start with.
Let me know at once for this
purpose, exactly of what your present
command consists, and how the
troops had better be thrown to-
gether. I expect you to keep the
regiments of cavalry you have. Five
of your regiments also left behind,
west of the mountains, I shall hope
