Maj. Genl. Halleck
Genl.-in-Chief
My orders to Genl. Milroy and
Kelley have been to get everything possible to Maryland
Heights, but I have nothing from Milroy later than
eleven (11) p.m. last night, his telegraphic communica-
tion being interrupted.
The enemy seem to have pushed on
impetuously to the westward of him approaching
Martinsburg. Genl. Tyler is there directing with a
view to get all to Harpers Ferry, but it is not known
yet whether the reported approach on Martinsburg
is in force.
