Genl,
I have just learned of some
things that have been spoken
to you to my disadvantage by
your officers and decided it an
act of justice to myself to
put you in possession of
the true state of facts.
Ist. My regiment
was stopped at Nashville
by order of Genl Sherman
& Genl Rosecrans as you
will see by copies (1 & 2) of
their orders.
2nd. I left Nashville
by orders of Genl Sherman
& complied as you
will see by copies (3 & 4)
