Nashville Ten March 3 1865
General
Your note of July 13th was handed
me on my return a few days since from
Eastport but I have been so unwell since with
neuralgia that I have been unable to reply
before to-day. General Wilson’s Cavalry
Command is now completely organized and
Officered and I could not now give you a
command there with justice to others.
New Regiments are constantly assuming
however, and I can soon give you a Division
of Infantry which is my intention, and
hope the command will be entirely satis-
factory to you.
Very Respectfully
Yr. obt svt
