I have been sadly
disappointed several evenings
in consequence of not getting
a letter from you, and sit down
to write fearing you are in the
same sad fix. I have nothing
of importance to write about,
times are so dull with me that
I can hardly wake up an idea,
The truth is we cant get entirely
used to living without you,
It appears more like staying
than living at home when you
are gone, we are all well
excepting a little cold.
The weather continues comfortab-
ly cold so that the roads are in
good condition for hauling
wood, and I am exceedingly
