I have recd.
no letter from you or Ella
since I last wrote you
a week ago yesterday-
I have nothing to new to
write. I am still in idle
so far as military duty is
concerned. But I am really
never idle a minute. I
have a great deal of corres-
pondence to attend to and
I am writing a history of
my campaigns in obedience
to a request from the Adjt
Generals office. Such a history
is required of all the generals
in the service to be filed in the
Adjt generals office for the future.
