Major Gen Milroy 

                         Gen Parkhurst 
told me to say to you if Capt 
Lewis is being unfairly dealt with 
If you will present the facts in 
writing to him he will see him 
prosecuted  He seems a ware of the 
Disposition of Gen Rousseau to 
persecute any one who will do his 
duty  There is some three hundred 
Rebs in town now wha know me to 
their sorrow  Gen Parkhurst says if I 
will get papers from you and others 
whome I Served in was under he 
will have them Endorsed by Gen 
Thomas and Gen Rosecrans  Rousseau 
would give me fits if he dare 
Gen cul as now Gen Parkhurst says 
he always pays those Reporting to him 
by Sending their name every month as 
every two month  to  The 20. M. with 
the amount he pays them and you 
have the Right to pay these in your 
Employ the same way he says that 
is the provision made for Secret Service
