Sir:
Major General Milroy has been directed to
proceed to Nashville, for the purpose of receiving and
organizing the Indiana Troops ordered to that place,
and is directed to report to Major General Thomas
for a command. This I think will place General
Milroy in a field for which he is well qualified and
give to him active duty in the field.
