Cumberland Feb. 28, 1865  (stricken: Stephenson is) by 
which your Dist. is subdistricted, Stephen- 
son is cut off from my sub. dist. & with 
it (stricken: Col) BVT. Brig. Gnl. Krzyzanowski 
with less than half of his command. 
 
 
 
My Sub. Dist. includes all the 
Block houses on this R. R. this side of 
Stephenson,  five of the block houses 
on this side of Stephenson are garrisoned 
by the officers & soldiers of the 106 OVI 
which Regt has its head qrs at Stephenson 
The 58 N.Y. (Gn. K’ old Regt) only 
about 200 strong also has its head qrs 
at Stephenson and persons one block 
house beyond Stephenson.  Now I request 
as a special favor that you will 
assign Gn. Krzyzanowski to my com’d 
with his head qrs at Duchand for the present & that you 
permit him to withdraw the 58th N.Y. from 
Stephenson & the block houses at Widows 
Creek into my sub. dist. & to relieve the 
five block houses this side of Stephenson 
garrisoned by the 106th O.V.I. by officers 
& men of the 58th N.Y. & that the head 
qrs of that Regt. be established at Duchand
