letter of June 19th last evening.
It always gives me much
pleasure to receive a letter from you.
I was surprised to learn
of Brotherline being down
there and still more
surprised to learn of his
being to fond of whiskey
he was certainly a very
temperate man when I
knew him, in the days
of the tea-totle and Wasingtonion
Societies. I am sorry that
he has become so depraved
for he is now man of
family. How sad the fact
