Dear Sir
There is a Society
organized in this county, composed
of patriotic men and women, called
the Jasper Co. Soldier’s Aid Society,
which meets once a week. The object
of the Society, as its name indicates
is to afford relief to wounded and
sick soldiers as far as lies in their
power and to see that all the
families of volunteers are amply
provided for. In addition to this,
the Society is also a sort of a
military class meeting or rather a
class meeting to discuss military affairs.
Every member is expected to express
his or her views with the utmost
freedom; and if any one has
an interesting letter, or other news,
