I hoped to
get a letter from you
before writing this week.
But have been disappointed
every mail the children are
always anxious to go for
the mail when they see
the Hack come in, and don’t
think it worth going for when
they fail to get a letter from
Pa. We are all well, my
eyes are better than when
last wrote to you, but I
can not yet use them very
much in reading or sewing.
I keep a wet cloth on them
when they are much
