Ezra Wright, expressed to him
my sincere thanks for his
warm sympathetic & encouraging
letter. The generous confidence
& kind feeling of my neighbors
at home affords me some
sunshine & is truly grateful.
I feel that I have been most
unjustly & unrighteously
persecuted, and that having most
conscientiously discharged my
duty & being entirely innocent of
any offense. I will overcome
& be fully acquitted & justified in
the eyes of every just man in
the end, but in these rapid times
