I recd your letter of the 5th
& yours and Elles of the 6th & Alice Becks with
Elles endorsement on it of the 6th and last
night I recd yours of the 16th. I am pained
to hear of your ill health. I hope it is
nothing serious & that you will soon recover.
I got a letter from Dr. Beck about the 2
inst informing me of Grimes death, poor
Grimes died away from kindred & friends.
Beck writes that he made a will by which
he bequeathed $1000 to educate Larry at
Wabash College & $500 each to educate
Becks other children – and all the
ballance of his property & money is bequeath-
ed to educate colored children and that
Jo Evins & Wm Dunkle are appointed
his Executors to dispose of his property
& apply the money as directed in the
will. After paying his debts no one is
