I was taken with a severe pain in my
side last night. it is some better but I
can hardly straighten myself and
makes me about sick. I am lounging about
trying to nurse myself better. Your wife, Mary

Dear Pa
We received your letter and
the picture which you sent ous I
recognized you as soon as I saw it
but I did not recognize Capt Baird.
I should like to go on lookout mountain
and take a view and would like to
go in that cave if it was not for
the boogaboos. We returned last week
from our visit to Delphi We were
gon 11 days. I was not very well
during the time was quite agueish
and had to take medicine
but had quit a pleasant visit with
Allie we was ot to Cousin Malies and
had all the watermelons and mushmelons
I could eat
Mattie is a grate big
girl larger than her mother. Allie is
going to school at St. Mary’s at South Bend
