Respected Sir,
Every officer and soldier in this
great struggle ??? those who look
to his acts and hope for his success
on personal grounds and to whom
his place seems better filled than
others are.
Among those who have earnestly hoped
for your well being there are few
who may do so with more sincerity
than the family of your old comrade
William E. Pearsons who was with you
in Mexico.
Of that family two more brothers and
his father have followed him, cutting
our circle down to two brothers two
sisters and our mother.~
