I am now writing at
your brother Johns. Matilda came
to town for us yesterday, and brought
us out in her carriage, the day was
cloudy and threatening, but did not
rain any of consequence up to the
time we started, but about the time
we got half way, the clouds that had
been gathering thick with blackness
suddenly burst upon us and gave
us quite a drenching.
Matilda and
Val being on the front seat, got the
worst of it, on each side of the road and
