We came from the Monongahelia  
And anxious to make a display  
Of our soldiership in the valley 
As 3rd Regiment Company A.

Brave Milroy we hail you commander.  
Are sure you won’t lead us astray.  
Then you will be our Alexander 
And we will be company “A”

Dear General, 
 
 
 
		I humbly beg pardon 
 for thus intruding on your time &  
attention. And regarding it as granted 
 I introduce myself as a private in  
Company A 3rd Regt. Va vol. and  
offer you the reading of a very remark 
able book which though small will  
afford excellent entertainment and 
 promote confidence in our country, 
 its present cause and future glory. 
 
 
 
	I need hardly inform you that  
I am a reader and firm believer in  
the Bible and have every confidence 
in the theory taught in Armageddon.
