TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS - - - GREETINGS:
Whereas, It has been certified to me by the proper authority that Robert H. Milroy has been duly elected to the office of CAPTAIN of THE IROQUOIS GUARDS
an Independent Company organized in accordance with the provisions of an Act
of the General
Assembly of the State of Indiana, approved June 14, 1852, in the County of Jasper
in the __________ Military District of the State of Indiana.
THEREFORE KNOW YE, That in the name and by the authority of said State I do
hereby commission him, the said Robert H Milroy CAPTAIN of said
Company, to serve as such for the term of Six Years
.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand, and caused
to be affixed the seal of the State, at Indianapolis, the sixteenth
day of April in the year of Our Lord 1861 ,
the 45 year of the State, and of the United
States, the 85 .
