Governor of the State of Indiana, and commander-in-chief of the militia thereof, 
 
 
  
   TO ALL WHO SHALL SEE THESE PRESENTS --- GREETING, 
 
 
 
   Whereas, It has been certified to me by the proper authority that Robert H. Milroy  
has been duly elected to the office of  Captain of the “Carroll Horse Guards” 
in the __________ Regiment of the Militia  of said State.  
 
 
 
   Therefore Know Ye, that in the name and by the authority of the said State, I do  
hereby commission 
him, the said    Robert H. Milroy  Captain  as aforesaid in the said  Regiment. 
 to serve from the date hereof until he shall have arrived at the age of sixty years. 
 
 
 
                         In Testimony Whereof,  I have hereunto set my hand and caused to be    
                                  affixed the Seal of the State, at Indianapolis, the third      
                                  day of     June    in the year of our Lord 1845, the thirtieth 
                                  year of the State, and of the United States the seventieth.
