My Dear Mary,
The Pay Master
has come at last, he paid me
last night which was due me up
to the 1st of this month ($1036.50.)
and today I send you enclosed
by express eight hundred dollars
which will enable you to pay off
all the debts that have been
troubling you for building or other
purposes – get your teeth fixed and
make yourself and children comfo
rtable for a while – and also enable
you to let Cicero have enough to
pay off some of my pressing debts
that he has charge of.
You had best deposit with Mr.
A. Thompson what you do not
need for present use and draw on
it as you need it.
