It is with heartfelt regret
that we see the guard so kindly
granted us, withdrawn this morning
& I now appeal to you on behalf of
an aged father ( 70 years of age) very
infirm & four helpless daughters for
any protection which can be obtained
through your influence.
We have suffered so greatly & would
have gone up to your camp today
but all of our horses were taken
from us. We wished you to know
