My Dear Robert
I feel like
writing to you, but do not
know where to direct my
letters. I wrote last week and
directed to Woodville.
I have just got in from the
garden, I was pruneing the
grape vines, we have had so
much rain that the groth of
the vines is excessive, and I
find that our vines have never
been trimmed enough to do
well, they have since
they have never yet done
as well as the Thompsons or Larnes
and our vines are much older
than theirs. Thompson has a fine
crop of grapes on his vines, free
from mildew of rot, Larnes grapes
are very much affected with rot
and mildew.
