My Dear Robert,
I received your
letter of Apr 26th. The next I
heard of you, was through the
papers, saying you were
fighting, the next was that
Schenck and Fremont, had saved
you. I was all anxiety to learn the
result of the fight, and was much
relieved when I read that you were
safe, and I sincerely hope that you
are yet safe, and enjoying good
health, for your life and health
are very precious to us, our little ones
talked a great deal about you, and
are anxiously looking forward to
the good time coming, when
Pa will be with us again.
Walter often asks why you dont
come home in the Morning,
