Dear Pa,
Ma and I received your
letter not long ago. I am going to
school now to Mr. Mitchel he has not
got many scholars the Seminary
has the most. Val has got his slate
and is trying to write to you. Ma
has just put Brucy to bed, he
gave her a good night kiss for
you. Ben was vaccinated last
week and had a very sore arm he
is studdying his lesson now he
recites his lesson to Simon
Thompson every day and can read
som now Ben says he feels just
as happy as a coon in a corn
field, he sayd he is glad
that you hav left Huttonville,
and are after the rebels and
