Dear Friends,
I rec. your v-mail a few days ago. I knew it had been quite a while since I had written to you, but it wasn't because I had forgetten you. I just haven't been in the writing mood. I like to rec. letters but for some reason I just can't get started to writing.
Every thing has been going very well with me, I was in the hospital for blood poison for eight days but I seem to be cured now. It was not very serious.
I guess you know I am in the Philippines now & have few for quite a while, I think I told you in a letter before.
I have seen plenty Japs & they have been keeping us pretty busy.
I was in Manilia today. There's not very much there thats nice to look at.
I was commissioned a 2nd Lt. on the 8th of this month. I have rec. the Purple Heart too for a shrapnel wound in the hip, it was only
