Dear Frank & Family,
I rec. your letter dated Sept. 19, today & sure was gald to hear from you.
I rec. a letter from home tell-ing me about Charestown be-coming a ghost town so fast, I had expected that to happen but not so quick as it has. It will be ghost town sure enough by the time I get home. From what I have been reading there must be a lot of unemployed in the U.S. now. I hear there are not very many jobs to be had.
I have 93 points, enought to get me home. I had expected to get home by Christmas but the way everything looks now I doubt if I make it, Anyhow I think it would be best not to send me a Christmas Box be-cause I doubt if I will be here when it comes. I had hoped to get to go to Japan but I don't guess I will. Everything seems to be going ahead of schedule there. I never thought
