CHARLESTOWN becomes State Tree Capital of Indiana by an annual state wide celebration held while the Tulip Trees, known as yellow Poplars, are in blossom. The Indiana State Tree is a flower, bearing large, rich yellow tulips, the last of May and the first of June. A festival, with appropriate ceremonies, to attract the great and small from Indiana and visitors from other states, will be held at the blossoming of the Tulip Trees each year.
