Milton M. Nichols to Mother and Sister

              Chestnut Hill      Hospital         Philadelphia Pa  Dear Mother & Sister             I take the pleasure o writing you a few lines to let you know how i am  getting along my eyes are about the same as they Were when i last wrote to you and i do not think they will ever be well  again i have to write with my glasses and they are No [?] near sited and you can know how well i can se with out them i can see to tell any one that i know 30 or 40 feet and that is a bout all i can say my eyes are not much better than they were when i came to this place and i have lost all hopes of ever getting well here and i am trying  to get Transferd to Cin Ohio but i cant say whether i will Suckceede or not if i do i will Write as soon as i learn if i should make the trip i will come by home first i think   So no more at this time only hoping   to remain your Child for Ever  M M Nichols
