Sentence for Nathan Shaffer

              State of Indiana v. Nathan Shaffer for Riot || Fine $1.00 And now on this 28th day of December 1863 Susan G. Fergison files her affidavit against Nathan Shaffer for Riot upon which I issued a writ to any constable of said county and handed said writ to D. Marsh Constable and now on this day 29th of December 1863 comes the constable and makes return of writ with the body of the defendant in custody the case called for trial the state by Hester V. Bambing and the defendant by W.N Browning. The evidence being sworn and examined and the case fully examined submitted to court it is therefore considered that the defendant is guilty as charged it is therefore considered that the state have judgment against defendant for one dollar fine and all costs and the defendant stand committed until the fine be paid or stayed or he be otherwise duly discharged according to law and now comes the defendant and files his bond for an appeal to common pleas court of Brown County, given under my hand and seal this 29th day of December 1863 William S. Roberts Justice of the Peace.
