The State of Indiana v. Alexander C. Obney for Riot || fine $1.00 || now comes Susan C. Fergison and files her affidavit against the defendant for Riot upon which I issued a writ to any constable of said county and handed said writ to D. Marsh Constable and now on this 29th day of December 1863 comes the defendant in custody the case called for trial the parties ready for trial and the state by Hester & Bainbridge for the defendant by W. W. Browning the defendant submitted the case to the court on the same evidence without examination or argument that the case fully examined it is therefore considered that the defendant is guilty and assessed a fine of one dollar and casts of suit and the defendant stand committed until the fine be paid or stayed or he be otherwise legally discharged according to law and now comes the defendant and files his bond for an appeal to the court of common pleas court of said county || given under my hand and seal this 29th day of December 1863 || William S. Roberts justice of the peace
