Camp Noble July the 15 Dear Father having nothing to do at present I thought I would wright a few lines home the day we started here we had to stop at Vernon all night the citizens took us to thare houses and treated us the best kind the next day we came to madison and marched imeadetly to camp we sleep in bunks on straw we have got our blankets we eat down in the woods we have bread meat rvee and coffe every meal I have been some what unwell for a day or tooo on thursday night I had to stand on gard part of the night the officer sed I done verry well I have been eccused from duty since and donot have to stand on gard now I wish I had brout my old black coat with me
