RALPH CARTER OUR NEXT TRUSTEE
His Election Beyond a Question of Doubt.
That Ralph Carter will be elected trustee of Creek Creek township, is generally conceded, The north end is for Carter, the west side is, the east side is, the south end and Harrodsburg is, the middle of the township is, Practically the entire township is unanimous for Carter. Such is the existing condition you could easily find Out if you would care to go the trouble to make inquiry. In his election same very important matters, con-cerniag the entire township is at stake. The users of tele-phones cannot afford to not elect him.The entire township is interested in our' newspaper and cannot afford to have it held back, but want it to go forward.
But the most vital question pertaining to that office is that the greatest judgment be used in maintaining the standard of heretofore, in hiring school teachers, to teach our children. That such teachers should be employed that would teach only the true American principals and doctrines of our own family firesides. In his election there will be no partiality, there will be no improvement made especially in one end or particular place in the township, or especial favors to any one. But it shall be my especial aim to handle that office honestly, promptly and to the general good of the whole township, and I am now going to leave it to you, that from the beginning of my
campaign, I have at all times, made a fair and clean campaign and never at any time resorted to any method or methods unbecoming to a gentleman Thanking you, I am, Yours Truly,

Mrs. Sallie Clark spent Tuesday with Mollie Cantrell.

Mrs. Homer Humphery, Mrs. Freb Caiitrell, Mrs. Dean May. Misses Tressa May and Myrtle Walls, spent the day Wednesday, with Mrs. A. A. Burris.
The Bloomington Daily World of Yesterday, the great democratic organ of the county, states yesterday just what the News has been contending from the beginning that there is no politics in the consideration in voting for a trustee. That the township trustee fills one of the most important offices in the county." These trustees elect the county superintendent of schools, appoint the township teachers and , are responsible for the schools and education in their township." --So you see that there is a great deal, at stake in hiring the school teachers. So again let us say cast your votes for the man and not on your party principles.

Mrs, Paris Trisler and Mrs. Walter Hepley went to Blooming-ton this morning.
Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Norman, of Linden, were the guests of Dr. and Mrs. C. M. Jackson last Sunday.
Mrs. Clyde Smith was down from Clear Creek, Monday to Spend the day with Mrs. C. M. Jackson.
Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Bnrris, Mr. and Mrs. Dean May, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Humphery and Miss Tressa May, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cantrell.
Don't you really believe that if you should happen to hold any malace toward Caiter on account of any telephone matters that if yoa would do him a good turn that it would be a good investment?
A wild cat, hob-goblin or some other terrible noisy varmint of some kind is frightening the "night riders" who travel the road east of town. Different people have been continually claiming to have heard some such awful noises, over east of late, but no attention was given it, until Dr. Kentling claimed that he heard enough while passing Ed Stulls woods the other night, to make him feel like he would just as soon be at home as any place, so he wasn't long in making up his mind. Whether or not it was some wild animal, or some "calamity howlers" over in tke woods having a time with a campaign ju^ is yet to be found out.
Line Up
Tomorrow morning and join the band wagon to the big rally. The band wagon will wait at the overhead bridge in "Stringtown" from 8:30 to 9:00 for all who will join in the Clear Creek Township delegation. There will be flags to decorate your rig, for all who will join in. Harrodsburg people are especially invited to come through Smithville and all of Clear Creek township go to-gether, and enjoy a good time for the last of the campaign.
Wouldn't you rather have Carter go on and make tilings better than to hold him back?
