Anyone paying a years subscription may come up the office and linger under the electric fan long enough to cool off. Mrs. Jim Baugh and daughters Lula and Ellen, Mrs. Fuget Clark, and daughter Alta, Mrs. Bank Adams and family, and Mrs. Wm. Wampler and family spent Tuesday with Mrs. Eon Sylvester. Stack Deckard, the well known farmer near Mt Ebal, is receiving wool at this place every Wednesday. Dr. Kentling is improving his residence with a new veranda, Gaither & Stull are doing the .work. A box-ball alley is being opened up at Sanders in the Corder building, by Mr. Smallwood, of Oolitic, and Henry Todd. Born to Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Hepley, at Bloomington, a son. Mrs. Hepley is remembered here as Miss Ethel Woodward. The little child of Chas. Henson at Sanders, is dangerously sick. Dr's. Jackson and Luzadder were there in consultation Wednesday. At the decoration exercises at Harrodsburg everybody will be given a artistic souvenir program, which is a fair sample of printers Mr. and Mrs. Francis Meek have moved from Jacksonville, Ill., to Greenfield, Ind. Mrs. Meek was formerly Miss Olive Johnson, of this place. The hitch-rack lemon mentioned last week, was handed out Tuesday night, when the city council voted 2 to 3 in favor of enjoining the county from putting the rack back. Wonder how a local option election would go just now? For information ask any farmer. The Christian church at Clear Creek, through the diligent efforts of Ed Martin, J.. B. Mathers. H. F. Dillman, Alex Glaspy and others, has been painted, a good strong hitch-rack built, a grove set out, the graveyard fence rebuilt and grass all trimmed until it has a very beauiful appearance. You can tell the sincereness of the religion of a church by its appearance. Every church ought to be everybody's home and the feeling when there like all were of one family. There are lots of churches but there isn't half enough religion in a great many of them. The church where its members pull against each other, in and out of the church, never attracts much attention in this world or the hereafter. Chas. Cline has moved from Mrs. Wooden's property to the Grimes addition. HARRODSBURG TO DECORATE. Sunday June 13th is to be a great day at Harrodsburg. The K. of P's., Odd Fellows, Modern Woodmen and Old Soldiers will have appropriate decoration exercises in honor of thier silent loved ones. At 12.30 a procession is to be formed and all march to the Hall grove about 1/2 mile west of Harrodsburg, where there will be prominent speakers to entertain the crowd. Music will be furnished by the Harrodsburg orchestra and Smithville Cornet Band. ATTENTION OF DR. HURTY NEEDED A little attention of Dr. Hurty could be used to a better advantage down about Clear Creek than worrying so much over the hitch-rack. Many of the farmers living along down the creek below Bloomington are getting their feathers ruffled up over the foul stuff that comes down ''Spankers branch'' out of Bloomington. Fish cannot live in it and when any comes up from the waters below; when they get up-above Clear Creek the foul water, kills them. The farmers also say the water is unfit for their stock to drink and unless the new sewerage system clears up the water and purifies it fa little, they are talking damage suits. MONON ROUTE is the best route to Chicago, LaFayette, Indianapolis and Louisville and all points North and Northwest.
