BOY SCOUT NEWS By Richard Carroll  The Dale Boy Scouts had no meeting oo Monday due to the Court of Honor which was held at Rockport. Four boys accompanied by Scoutmaster O. V. Brown were present. They received the following merit badges:  Raymond Schum  Carpentry  Billy Sprinkle  Carpentry and Gardening Roy Brown  Stamp Collecting and Art Richard Carroll  Stamp Collecting and Art  Teacher Resigns  G. E. Tennis, that was appointed as teacher of vocational agriculture in the local high school, presented his resignation to George W. Patmore, trustee, Wednesday evening to accept another school in the northern part of the state.   BUY A POPPY SATURDAY  Don't forget the memorial service that will be conducted at the Dale cemetery, Monday morning, May 30, at 9:30. The American Legion of Harmeyer Post, No. 343, will conduct the military service and Rev. James T. McClary will be the speaker. Wind and rain did much damage to Dale and it vicinity this past week. Many roofs were blown off by the wind and trees were uprooted. The large Coca-Cola sign, just south of town, was blown down Monday evening.  Celebrating the birthdays of Mrs. May Kokomoor and Mrs. June Scott, a six o'clock dinner was served at the home of the latter, Sunday evening. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Harris, Mr. and Mrs. Russel Medcalf, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Kkokomoor and Mr. and Mrs. Ford Scott of here; Mr. and Mrs. John I. Bumm and Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Qualls of Evansville.  Church News  UNITED BRETHREN CHURCH   REV. JAMES T. McCLARY. MINISTER  Unified worship service at 9 a.m.  A. J. Schwartz, 87, oldest physician of Huntingburg, died Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. He operated a drug store from 1883 to 1937, selling last year to an Evansville firm. He served two years as mayor of Huntingburg being one of the very few mayors elected on the republican ticket.  A. J. Wedeking Honored By Ass'n  Albert J. Wedeking was elected vice-president of the Indiana Bankers' association at French Lick as it closed its forty-second annual Convention Thursday. Robert H. Myers of Muncie was elected president and E. Marion Lutz of Indianapolis, treasurer. This organization is doing some mighty fine work and each year they come together in a meeting to discuss how to make the banking system in Indiana better.  Poppy day will be observed in Dale, Saturday, May 28, with the American Legion Auxiliary in charge. By a poppy and help worthy cause.  A group meeting of the Hoosier Pals 4-H Clubs, will be held at the Dale High School on Friday night, May 27, at 7:30 with E. H. Loehr as speaker.  The 4-H Club baking girls met the second time at their leaders home, May 26. First, we had a short meeting and then Rita Koenig demonstrated the baking of drop cookies. Mr. and Mrs. Amos Meyer and children Joan, June Ann and Buddy, Mr. and Mrs. Emil Henke and sons, Howard and Harold, and Nolan Lauderdale of Holland were Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Linhardt.  Those that taken dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wertman Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. George Englebrecht and family Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Englebrecht of Lamar; Mr. and Mrs. Eli Miesener, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Sattler, and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wertman of Huntingburg, Rev. and Mrs. James T. McClary and son Leon of here. Mr. and Mrs. Ed Link of Huntingburg visited in the afternoon.  Mr. and Mrs. Albert Cooper and family and James Cooper, spent the week end with Fprrest Cooper adn family at Lexington, Ky.
