I   FRIDAY, MARCH 4, 1938  NO. 8  Presbyterian Young People Meets Here For A Group Rally Young people of the Presbyterian Churches of the Vincennes Presbytery met here in Dale at the Presbyterian Church Sunday afternoon and evening for a group meeting. The Dubois and Spencer county young people did the entertaining. Rev. Stanley Meckel, a young man from Evansville who is studying for ministry made the principal address. At supper time they gathered in the K. P. Hall for a supper prepared by the young people. In the evening there was an interesting Christian Endeavor program given.  Funeral services for Henry Kern, 78, formerly of Lincoln City, were held at the Fuller Funeral Home here in Dale on Thursday afternoon with burial in the Gentryville cemetery. Rev. Geo. E. Andrews of the Gentryville M. E. Church was the officiating clergyman.  Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schiffer, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Springston of Evansville and Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Payne and little daughter of Parkway, California, visited W Springston and family Friday and attended the funeral of their Aunt, Mrs Tillie Heady.  Mr. and Mrs. Russel Medcalf have moved into the Krusenklaus property this week. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Heichelbech of Scottsburg, Indiana have been visiting relatives in Dale over the week end. Mr. Heichelbech is holding a position as bank liquidator for the State Financial Department.  Elmer Henderson of Owensboro, Ky. visited with his aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henderson, last Sunday. Rev. and Mrs. C. H. Youngblood and sons Howard and Charles of the Petersburg U. B. Circuit visited friends in Dale on Saturday and Sunday.   Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Stone and Mrs. James T. McClary were in Evansville Monday. Mrs. Grace Brown end Mrs. Clyde McCormick and daughter Marlene were in Evansville Saturday.  Mrs. John Groan and son Sheldon Paul and Miss Thelma Seneff visited Mr. and Mrs. S. D. CELESTINE SANDER. O.S.B., PASTOR The holy season of Lent which began on Ash Wednesday, will last for forty days and will end on holy Saturday.  Lenten devotion will be held as follows: On Wed. and Sat. at 1:00 p m.  On Sunday at 2:00 p.m.  Sunday Masses as follows:  First Mass at 7:30 a. m.  Second Mass at 9:45 a. m.  Mr. and Mrs. Ira Elliott moved back to their farm south of town Saturday and Mr. and Mrs. Pearless Maxey moved into their home.  Mr. and Mrs. Alois Kern and family who have been living on the Joseph Schum farm south of town, have moved to the Frank Peters farm, four miles west of Fulda. Mr. Springston of Chrisney has moved to the Schum farm. Work is progressing nicely on the new addition to the J. W. Winkler and Son wholesale house.  Scouts Hold Court Of Honor Meeting In Dale On Mon.  There was no regular scout meeting on Monday due to a monthly Court of Honor which was held at Dale. Joe Junker asst. Scout Exective was present. Presentations of badges and certificates are as follows:  Second Class Badges: Jack Brown, Robert Richards, Joe Fischer and John Branch of Rockport.  First Class Badges: Richard Carroll of Dale.  Merit Badges Certificates: Roy Brown of Dale, First Aid and Reading; Raymond of Dale, First Aid; Lester Potter of Dale, First Aid and Swimming.  A talk was then given by Mr. Bennet of Rockport about the newly organised troop of colored scouts in Rockport.  The Court of Honor then adjourned with the men joining in a business discussion and the boys listening to Robert Barr, a Scoutmaster of an Evansville troop, give a discussion of the world jamboree.  A wedding took place at the U. B. parsonage Sunday afternoon when Charles McCoy of Evansville and Mary Elizabeth Patmore of Tennyson were united in marriage. Rev. James T. McClary performed the ceremony.   Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henderson and family will move the first of next week to Rockport where they will make their future home.  Group W. F. M. S. To Meet  The Spring Meetieg of the Huntingburg Group of the W. F. M. S. of the Evansville District will convene at the Campground Tuesday, March 8th This group includes the Auxiliaries at Holland, Huntingburg, Dale, Gentryville, Holland and Campground.  The guest speaker is Miss Dorothy Jones, Cungking, West China. The Conference Secretary, Mrs. Hattie Asbury, Indianapolis, will give a message also.  The program, beginning at 10 a. m., closes at 3:15 p.m., with a box luncheon at the noon-hour.
