              THE DALE NEWS  VOL. I FRIDAY, APRIL, 22 1938  NO. 15  Home Economic's Club Meets The Dale Home Economic's Club met Tuesday evening, April 15, at the home of Mrs Robert Winkler. Assisted hosteeses were: Mesdames A. Bruce, Hurst Livengood and Glenn Dougan.  Nineteen members responded to the roll call with a health hint. Dr. Barrow gave a very interesting talk on Health,  The Dale Club voted to sponsor the trip of the 4H Club girls to the State Fair School. Song History of "Day is dying in the west," by Mrs. Beatrice Witte and was sang by Mrs. Charles Bochstabler and Mrs. Oswald Tischendorf.  Solo, "Trees" Mrs. Sam Weller.  Mrs.  C. M. Sprinkle demonstrated the making of salad.  The next meeting of the Club will be a tour of the Uhl Pottery at Huntingburg, with a six o'clock supper at Ideal Hotel.  The hostesses served a delicious saled.  Boy Scouts to be at Lincoln May 8  The Southern Indiana Council of the Boy Scouts of America will have a Mother's Day program at Lincoln City Park, Sunday, May 8th. For the past three years, the scouts have held Mother's Day programs there and last year there were over 500 scouts and parents present. It is hoped that this number present may be doubled this year. O. V. Brown, local scoutmaster has been asked to be chairman of the physical arrangements committee. The local troop has also been asked to conduct a tour of the park and nearby vicinity for the scouts that attend.  Dale To Have Library  Quite a few Dale citizens that are interested building up our town and helping the youth build life and character, met Tuesday evening at the Knights of Phythias Lodge Hall and founded a future library organisation. Much enthusiasm was shown by everyone and many plans were laid that will soon get under way. An election was held with the following results:  President - O. V. Brown,  Vice President  E. H. Loehr, Secretary  S. G. Johnson, Treasurer A. J. Wedeking,  Directors consist of the above officers and A. J Brown, O. I. Brooner, E. T. Winkler and E C. Weller.  The organization will be called, "Abe Lincoln Youth District Library Association."  The Huntingburg Music Club is bringing Mrs. Kathryn Tierney Garten, dramatic reader, to Huntingburg in the Salem's Parish Hall, Tuesday, April 26th at 8 o'clock and everyone will have the opportunity of hearing her review the book, "The Citadel" by A. J. Cronin. Mrs. Garten is a splendid reader, having been recalled to Evansville again and again. The following were baptized and united with the local Presbyterian Church Sunday: Virginia Whitten, Joan Mair, Janice Otto and Mrs. Mary Otto. The following united with the Church: Jimmie Casner, Imogene Stone, Nora Lee Stone, Clarence Otto, Jeanette Medcalf sad Glendyl Stone.  Church News  METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH  REV. W. A. SKELTON. MINISTER  Our Pre-Easter evangelistic services were the best that have been held for some years in our church. The splendid cooperation of everyone is what made these meeting a success and we want to take this opportunity of thanking you.  Church School at 9:15. A. J. Wedeking superintendent. PASTOR  The interior of St. Joseph's Church has undergone a renovation during the past week. The walls have been painted and the woodwork and pews have been varnished. A beautiful monogram of M. and A. decorates the wall above the Blessed Virgin altar and one of S. and J. is painted above the St. Joseph alter. The newly painted, cleaned and decorated church, together with the altars decorated in ferns and tulips, presented a truly festive appearance at the Easter celebration. The choir too, played its part well to make the celebration festive. Many compliments were paid to the singers from all sides.  The attendance at services during the entire Holy Week were very good. On Good Friday afternoon the church was literally packed. Easter Sunday, of course, found every good Catholic at Mass. On Sunday, April 24 at 7:45 p. m. the Rocky Mountaineers, a radio group heard from station WOMI, in Owensboro, Ky. will present a stage show and RadioJamboree in St Joseph's Hall. Admission 15 and 25 cents. Everybody welcome, come and bring your friends.   Baccalaureate Services Sunday Evening at the Gymnasium.  Junior-Senior Reception By Glendyl Stone  The Junior-Senior Banquet will be held Saturday night, April 23 at 7 p. m. at the High School Gym, Ninety will be present to enjoy it. Those that will make speeches are as follows: Toastmaster, Jimmie Casper; Junior Class President, Jerome Casner: Ruby Huff; Principal E. H. Loehr; Fae Wittie, president of Senior Class; Senior Class prophecy by Thelma Woods and Charles Heady; Senior Class Will by Mary Ann Brooner, Optimist talk by Gervase Hollander. Maurice Kendall will act as Junior Major Bowes in an amateur program after the talks. Two nice prizes will be offered, one putting on the best program and one putting on the funniest program. Judges for this will be: Prin. E. H. Loehr, Trustee G. W. Patmore, and County Agent E. F. Downen.  Many games and contests will be played at the close by the guests and hostesses. The menu will be as follows:  Fruit Cocktail  Chicken in Nest of Noodles  Peas  Parsley  Buttered Potatoes  Celery   Radish.  Jello Salad Ice Cream and Cake Boy Scout News The Dale Boy Scouts held their weekly meeting Monday evening at the home of O. V. Brown. After business meeting everyone played games. The troop has just received two new scouts, Claud Springston who has been transferred from Chrisney and Glendyl Stone who rejoined. This brings our membership up to sixteen. Gail Witte was initiated into the Railsplitters patrol in a colorful ceremony. The monthty court of honor will be held next Monday. Mrs. John Bumm and Mrs. George Clark visited their mother Saturday and Sunday. R. Foster Scott of LaGrange, Ill, is visiting with his mother and other relatives and friends this week. Miss Virginia Linhardt of Indianapolis spend Easter with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Linhardt. Rev. and Mrs. I. M. Blackburn of Henderson, Ky. visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brown Tuesday evening.  Born to Mr. and Mrs. Ambros Kean last Saturday a little baby boy, which has been named Lucus.
