Dear Mr. Dorsey,
I am just fine and hope you are the same. I wrote you a letter a couple weeks ago but the
censor returned it and it had on the front rewrite so I guess I talked too much so I wont be
able to tell you very much. It is very nice weather here it is about like June is there except
the nights are a lot colder. According to my opinion the country isnt very nice about all
they grow is rice and it grows in water so it is pretty damp here.
The natives here are very rude. They use water buffalos to work they are about like oxen.
They even cary rocks in baskets to build roads it takes a thousand of them to do any
thing they have no tools at all so they do every thing by hand. about every thing that they
cary they cary on their heads.
On this trip I was in 4 different continents and traveled 15 thousand miles and crossed the
equater twice. This is tropical country the bks. here have grass roofs on them and seem to
turn the water O.K. any clear day I can see snow from here. The people here are almost
as dark as negroes but I am telling you in Africa they couldnt get any blacker
I imagine you have read in magazines and things what the Indo China wing of the A.T.C.
is doing so you probably know more about it than I can tell you. You think the old saw
mill at Spring mill park is old. here they saw log into lumber with cross cut saw and one
man on each side of the log.
