Hello Mr. Dorsey, how are you and every thing around Speed? I received the
Speedometers the other day and was very glad to get them again. I was glad to hear that
your Mother is much better. I hope she will be able to get back home soon. The letter and
Speedometers will be deeply appreciated Mr. Dorsey even if the war has ended. I was
wondering if you would continue sending them and was very glad to know that you
intended to do so. If you have knowledge of any ones address that is here on Guam, I
would like very much if you would send them to me. I was able to locate Lester Adams
by the address you sent me while I was in California. Maybe I will be able to find some
of the fellows out here. I am on a ball team now. We are playing soft ball and at the
present, we are tied for first place, having won three games and lost one . We didn’t get a
chance to play all last week, because of rain. I have never seen it rain so hard and for
such a long period of time in my life. I am beginning to see where all of that water in the
ocean comes from. I think it all runs off of Guam. HaHa. I did pretty good the last game.
The bases were loaded and I hit a home run. Sure will be glad when I get back home and
we can start another soft ball team. What do you think about the world series? At the
present it is three games a piece. I guess this is a very unusual series, having to play seven
games. Yes Mr. Dorsey, these are going to be very long months waiting to be discharged.
I don’t expect to get out for quite some time yet, but hope it isn’t any longer that July.
Sure would like to be home for the 4th.
