My Dear Mrs. Whitesides:
Several weeks ago I received a contribution of $5.00 from the Majestic Temple Pythian Sisters for our Service Men's Entertainment Fund here at Speed. Please tell the ladies of your organization that this gift is greatly appreciated, not only by me but by the boys whose entertainment your contribution has helped to make possible.
Since beginning these weekend parties, we have entertained 359 men for a full weekend. The money for these parties--each of which costs approximately $20.00--comes entirely from voluntary contributions such as that received from your organization. We hope to be able to continue these parties for service men as long as the need continues, and we hope we will have your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jesse G. Dorsey
