Woman's Bible Class
Speed Memorial Church
Speed, Indiana
Dear Mrs. Adams:
Several days ago we received the contribution of $5.00 from your class for our Service Men's Entertainment Fund. Please tell your members that the gift is greatly appreciated. If they could see these men who come here week after week and know how much they appreciate the sort of entertainment they are given here, the ladies would feel greatly repaid.
Since starting our parties for service men in July, 1942, we have entertained 359 men for a full weekend. Our last group came from Nichols General Hospital in Louisville as did the group which was here one month ago.
It takes about $20.00 to cover the expenses of one party, and , as you know, we are entirely dependent upon the voluntary gifts received to keep them up, so every donation is appreciated. We hope to continue this program as long as there is a need for it, and, of course, we hope to have your continued support.
Sincerely,
Jesse G. Dorsey
