DEAR GIRLS:
THE WEEKEND OF DECEMBER 9-10TH, WE HAD TWELVE BOYS FROM THE ARMY AIR FORCES CONVALESCENT HOSPITAL AT BOWMAN FIELD AS OUR GUESTS. ONE WAS FROM THE SPECIAL SERVICES OFFICE. ONE WAS FROM THE SPECIAL SERVICES OFFICE, AND ELEVEN WERE PATIENTS (SO-CALLED). TEN WERE VETERANS FROM TEH 8TH AIR FORCE IN ENGLAND AND ONE WAS FROM THE PACIFIC 5TH AIR FORCE. ALL WERE GUNNERS, RADIO MEN OR ENGINEERS. WE HAD A GRAND TIME AND HOPE TO HAVE SOME MORE OF THESE MEN OUR AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR.
I WANTED YOU BOTH TO KNOW WE MISSED YOU SO I SUGGESTED THAT WE PASS A PAPER AROUND THE TABLE AND LET EVERYBODY WRITE YOU A LITTLE NOTE. MOST EVERYBODY DID, AS YOU WILL SEE BY THE ENCLOSED NOTES.
SINCE LUCY WAS AT THE PARTY, I AM ASKING HER TO TELL YOU A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE GANG AND WHAT WE DID.
I AM GETTING SORT OF ANXIOUS TO HEAR FROM YOU BOTH SO I HOPE YOU WILL HAVE TIME TO WRITE BEFORE LONG.
BEST WISHES TO YOU BOTH,
YOUR FRIEND,
JESSE G. DORSEY
