HELLO, BOOB:
YOUR CARD, WRITTEN MAY 15TH, WAS RECEIVED, AND I WAS VERY GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU AND TO KNOW THE RED CROSS IS ABLE TO HELP YOU.
HERE WE ARE BEGINNING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER. THE DAYS ARE REALLY GETTING SHORT NOW, AND THE WEATHER IS MUCH COOLER. ALREADY WE HAVE HAD SEVERAL FROSTS. THE TREES WERE BEAUTIFUL LAST MONTH, WITH ALL THEIR MANY COLORS, BUT MOST OF THEM HAVE LOST THEIR LEAVES NOW.
THESE LAST FEW WEEKS HAVE SEEN AN INCREASE IN THE ACTIVITIES OF THE CANDIDATES WHO ARE SEEKING SUPPORT IN THE ELECTION NEXT TUESDAY.
THE HIGH SCHOOL BOYS HAVE BEEN TALKING AND PRACTICING BASKET BALL FOR WEEKS, AND TONIGHT THEY PLAY THEIR FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON, WITH MARENGO HERE. MOST OF THE REGULARS ARE BACK ON THE SCHEDULE AS WELL AS JEFF, SCOTTSBURG, MADISON AND SALEM.
OUR GYM HERE AT THE COMMUNITY HOUSE IS A BUSY PLACE, TOO; IT IS USUALLY FULL OF THE KIDS TOO YOUNG TO GO OUR FOR THE HIGH SCHOOL TEAM.
THE KIDS PLAYED HALLOWEEN PRANKS ALL LAST MONTH AND EVEN SOAPED A FEW WINDOWS AFTER HALLOWEEN WAS OVER. IN FACT, THE OLD HOME COMMUNITY IS JUST ABOUT AS USUAL FOR THIS TIME OF YEAR.
YOU DAD WAS IN TO SEE ME A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO, AND I SEE YOUR WIFE AND BABY OCCASIONALLY.
I SHALL BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN WHENEVER YOU CAN WRITE ME.
YOUR FRIEND,
JESSE G. DORSEY
